Travel and wanderlust blogs

I recently went to Florida for work, visiting a host of PR Newswire clients to discuss content and best practices.

It was a great trip.

I’ve got my mind now on summer travel. I’m already looking forward to some trips I have planned, mostly because of the warmth of my business trip to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Boca Raton.

1. Our Wild Abandon

Our Wild Abandon chronicles the travels of Kyla and Jill.

“In 2013, we sold everything we owned to hit the road in a fixed up old trailer and we haven’t looked back since,” the duo says, on the blog. “At our best we are documenting our lives on the run and telling stories about the people in our path. At our worst we’re looking for places to shower and running out of gas.”

These are my kind of people.

The photography on the blog also is stunning.

Some of my favorite posts include And I Just Kept Runnin’, Yosemite Ma’am, You Can’t Go Home Again, and A Whiter Shade of Pale.

2. The Sweetest Way

The Sweetest Way is blog about travel and lifestyle design. It’s written and managed by Leah Davis.

My passion for travel led me to create a location independent lifestyle where I’m able to live and work wherever I please,” she writes. “This site is where I share my hard-won knowledge so others can do the same (yes, even you my sweet friend!).”

There’s so much to love about this site.

Posts that caught my eye include 20 Magical Photos of Greece Guaranteed to Stoke Your Wanderlust, There’s No Such Thing As Overnight Success, 10 Surprisingly Affordable US Travel Destinations, and The Ultimate List of Facebook Groups for Entrepreneurs, Freelancers, Bloggers, and Digital Nomads.

3. Wild About Travel

If you want to read travel tales by a (solo) travel addict, look no further than Wild About Travel.

Simon Falvo has been traveling for more than 20 years. The site features several places to go, literally. You can choose your destination or select a travel theme.

“I worked for over a decade in investment banking, then a few years in one of the largest international PR groups,” Falvo says. “In 2009, after a burn-out, I left the corporate world and started a new adventure.”

I found several interesting posts on Falvo’s site. They include Rouen, A Beautiful Medieval City in Normandy, Unforgettable Helicopter Flight Above Lake Wanaka, and pretty much everything in the Food & Wine section of the blog.

4. This is the Place I was Telling You About

What a cool site.

This is the Place I was Telling You About features stories about travel, coffee, film, as well as places to eat, stay, and shop.

The blog is written by R’el Dade and Marcus Lloyd, “two Texans living in New York City.”

They enjoy photography, traveling, and great food.

Some seriously fabulous posts include Milk Barn, Calliope, Sueno Cubano Hostal Boutique, and Cup Café.
