The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) released on July 12 its annual Hot Wheels report which identifies the 10 most stolen vehicles in the U.S. The report examines vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and determines the vehicle make, model and model year most reported stolen in 2016.

60% of Employers Plan to Hire Full-time, Permanent Employees in the Second Half of 2017

WNET Launches Multi-Platform #DaysofDelays Transit Initiative

WNET, parent company of New York’s PBS stations THIRTEEN and WLIW21 and operator of New Jersey’s Public Television Network, NJTV, has announced the launch of #DaysofDelays, a new multi-platform transit initiative addressing significant transit delays this summer. In anticipation of Amtrak’s emergency track work at Penn Station beginning on July 10, and with repairs impacting NJ Transit, Long Island Railroad and New York City MTA, the initiative will provide commuters throughout the tri-state area with support and resources during the anticipated 44-day service interruptions.

Lucid Air Prototype Achieves 235 MPH, Shattering Previous Recorded Speeds

Lucid Motors announced on July 10 that the company’s Lucid Air Alpha Speed Car had completed its second high-speed test run and achieved a top speed of 235 mph. The test was conducted at the Transportation Research Center (TRC) in Ohio. Lucid fitted one of its Lucid Air Alpha prototypes with a roll cage in preparation for a series of high speed tests intended to explore the limits of the platform and uncover any behaviors that may not be discovered in lab testing.
