It’s that time of year when we stress about figuring out which wines to pair with holiday meals (or is that just me?). These wine blogs are updated regularly with great content for all wine lovers, from novices to sommeliers.

Check them out to find the best food and wine pairings, wine cocktails recipes, and learn about varietals and even the soil.

1. VinePair

The VinePair site offers a wide range of unique, accessible content covering “drinks and the experiences you have with a glass in hand.” Wine posts include reviews, expert profiles, recipes, and pairing recommendations.

In addition to wine, VinePair also covers beer, cocktails, coffee, and snacks.

The site has a number of fantastic columns, including Ask Adam (all your drinking questions), Lucky Sevens (what the stars are drinking), and Need to Know (interesting facts about your favorite brands). And make sure to visit the Learn tab for in-depth guides, like Wine 101, which really breaks everything down.

2. Wine Folly

If you’re new to wine, or even just looking to brush up on your vino know-how, you have to check out Wine Folly. This blog is a fantastic educational resource for wine-lovers.

The regional guides offer an in-depth look at the wines, history, land, and travel options for a number of popular wine locales, including Napa, Bordeaux, and Argentina. Come across a word you aren’t familiar with? Check out the wine glossary.

Wine Folly’s 34-week wine tasting challenge would be a great way to learn about different varietals and sharpen your palate (and it’d just be plain fun). Added bonus: the wines on the list are all less than $30 per bottle.

3. Vinography

Vinography started as a personal project for founder Alder Yarrow in 2004. Since then, it’s grown into a respected and influential source of wine writing.

Contributors “work hard to create an alternative to the traditional sources and styles of wine journalism, partially through its emphasis on the stories, the people, and the passion behind wine, all told from a decidedly down-to-earth perspective.”

The site features wine reviews, news roundups, and beautiful photos. Readers can also find book reviews, a unique feature of Vinography.

4. Wine Turtle

The name of this blog immediately caught my eye. The writers simply love wine and “…enjoy it at a Turtle’s pace because that’s how it should be done. No good will come from rushing through it; much better to take your time and enjoy every last bit of it.”

The blog offers unique content, covering some common wine-related questions as well as topics that you may not find on other wine blogs. One of the more unique features of Wine Turtle is an entire section of recipes for making your own wine.
