More Theater Blogs We Love - mediablog.prnewswire.com

It took a while, but live theater finally made its comeback last year and fans could not be happier. My sister recently attended her first Broadway shows in NYC and I’ll be seeing Hamilton soon, so theater and Broadway are on my mind.

We’ve recognized several theater blogs in the past and with the recent resurgence of live performances, I thought it’d be a perfect time to give shoutouts to a few more. Read our first roundup to find even more content from theater blogs deserving of a standing ovation.

1. The Broadway Blog

The Broadway Blog has theater lovers covered with the latest news from Broadway, Off-Broadway, the West End, and regional theater in the U.S.

Blog posts include show reviews, cast interviews and profiles, backstage gossip and more.

2. Broadway World

Broadway World covers the latest theater news from around the world, with writers from Anchorage to New York, Brazil to Monaco.

The blog includes unique topics like immersive/interactive theater, student theater, and industry stats like grosses, attendance and average ticket price. Readers can subscribe to get access to ticket discounts, newsletters, message boards and news from their local theater scene.

3. A Younger Theatre

A Younger Theatre is a unique blog that examines theater through the eyes of younger generations. Blog contributors range from 16 to 35 years old and provide their original perspectives on the British theater scene.

Blog runner Samuel Sims announced in September 2021 that the site would be taking a break. But I was delighted to see the recent post announcing its return. Sims encourages readers to “continue to stay with us and please keep believing in the passion you have for the arts, despite the Hunger Games-esque s***storm that is still circling. It’s still worth it.”

So even without posting new content in recent months, this blog is still very much deserving of a spot on the list and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

4. Exeunt Magazine

This online theater magazine “believes in making beautifully written, experimental, fierce and longform writing about theatre available for free.” In addition to the more traditional articles, you can dig around the site to find unique posts in the form of sonnets, storybooks or plays.

Reviews on the site cover performances from NYC to the West End as well as more fringe productions. You can also find features and opinion pieces covering the latest updates in the theater world.
