New Black Cultural Heritage Tour Itineraries Amplify Black-Owned Businesses, Celebrate Black History & Culture 365 Days a Year

New Black cultural heritage tour itineraries celebrate and offer access to rich Black history and culture year-round while leveling the playing field for small Black-owned businesses to recover from the pandemic and actively participate and profit in the travel industry. This initiative was created by the National Blacks in Travel and Tourism Collaborative, whose mission is to advance Blacks in travel and tourism.

The itineraries create equitable opportunities for local Black-owned tour operators, restaurants, bed & breakfasts/boutique hotels, transportation providers, local artists, cultural attractions, and retailers. They aim to drive consistent tourist foot traffic and revenue to help underrepresented businesses become sustainable and scalable. They offer transformative experiences for culturally curious travelers to engage in responsible travel as their dollars directly support the recovery and sustainability of these minority suppliers.

U.S. Housing Market Has Doubled in Value Since the Great Recession After Gaining $6.9 Trillion in 2021

U.S. housing gained a record $6.9 trillion in 2021, nearly doubling what was previously the largest annual gain of $3.7 trillion in 2005. The full U.S. housing stock is now worth $43.4 trillion, according to a new Zillow analysis. Strong demand met limited supply in 2021, driving home values up more than ever before — home values grew 19.6% last year, an all-time high in Zillow’s data, which dates back more than 20 years. That remarkable rise means U.S. housing is now worth twice what it was a decade ago, in the midst of the Great Recession. Zillow economists expect another strong year in 2022.
