It’s National Ice Cream Month.

What a beautiful thing to celebrate. In honor of this and to kick off my July 4th week properly, I purchased a delightful vanilla soy ice cream that I plan to share with my son.

Last year, we visited some excellent ice cream blogs. Here are a few more.

1. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream blog

This blog chronicles the work and flavors of ice cream icon Jeni’s.

“We are absolutely devoted to making better ice creams and bringing people together,” the blog says. “It’s what gets us out of bed in the morning and keeps us up late at night.”

The person behind the corporation is Jeni Britton Bauer, who’s been making ice cream professionally for two decades. Bauer founded Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in 2002.

Some of the posts I liked on the blog include Sun-Popped Corn Ice Cream, Got Fresh Peaches? Cold-Poach ‘Em, and Make (Good!) Astronaut Ice Cream.

2. If The Spoon Fits

This is Lindsay’s ice cream blog.

“Ice cream is my happy place, my infinite childhood,” she writes. “I’d like for this blog to feel that way, too.  So, go ahead. Get that extra scoop. Eat it. Love it. Take a bath in it. Be a kid again. Just don’t skimp; because if the spoon fits, there’s not enough ice cream in your bowl!”

This site immediately caught my attention with Triple Blueberry Ice Cream Floats. Wow.

I also thoroughly enjoyed Wine and Gold Sorbet, Caramelized White Chocolate Ice Cream with Toasted Almonds, and Matcha Ice Cream with Black Salt Chocolate Chunks.
