Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, PR Newswire selects an industry or subject and a handful of sites that do a good job with promoting and contributing to the conversation. I’ve lately been hooked on watching real estate-related shows, namely the tiny house movement and house flipping.

Tiny houses are fascinating.

The storage solutions that builders come up with for such small spaces truly are genius. And the people who manage to live in those little beauties are equally interesting.

So this got me thinking about real estate this week. Let’s start with tiny houses.

Tiny House Blog covers “living simply in small spaces.”

The blog was launched by Kent Griswold in May 2007.

“The goal of the tiny house blog is to discover the different options available for a person looking to down size into a tiny house or cabin,” Griswold says.

I found several cool posts on this site. They include Sailboat Living on the Hudson River, Mark’s Little Cabin Near the Small River, and Easy Downsizing Tips You Can Use Right Now.

Brick Underground features “Real estate. Real Life. Real New York.”

The site covers buying, renting, selling, living, improving, and escaping.

Brick Underground features really interesting content. Some posts that caught my eye include A Morningside Heights Doorman Says Goodbye to His Tenants After 36 Years on the Job, Here’s Why It’s So Expensive to Renovate in NYC (And How You Can Save), and Five Apartment Remnants From an Earlier Architectural Era.

That last post contains such fun gems from prewar apartments. Exciting.

The BiggerPockets Blog is the “leading source for the best articles on real estate investing, personal finance, marketing and being successful.”

There are some really interesting pieces on this blog. Coverage includes landlording and rental properties, real estate analysis and advice, business management and podcasts.

Notable posts include 5 Tips for Picking a Winning Investment Property (& 5 Red Flags to Avoid!), What Real Estate Investors Can Learn from Facebook’s Long Term Mindset, and The 16 Vital Aspects of a Bulletproof Lease Signing.

GeekEstate is the “premier technology & internet marketing community for real estate.”

GeekEstate features information about broker solutions, recommended tech providers, and startups. It was launched in 2007 by Drew Meyers.

“GeekEstate Blog is a resource for real estate professionals who want to learn more about how they can grow their business through smart use of technology,” the blog says.

Several posts I enjoyed include Why Location Intelligence is the Next Big Thing in Real Estate, Google Maps Focusing on Real Estate Vertical, and Would a Real Estate Coffee Shop Work?
