I don’t know about you all but I was planning on the summer being canceled again in 2021. Now that I’m vaccinated, the world is opening up, and warmer weather is making an appearance, I find myself scrambling to get in shape.
Blog Profiles: Health and Fitness Blogs
I’ve done everything from rejoining the gym (high-intensity interval training) I was attending prior to the pandemic to purchasing a resistance indoor bike trainer from a local thrift shop and even adjusting my portion control. It’s been quite an eventful April so far.
What also really works for me is doing online research for the best brands and what works best when it comes to fitness and health. In order to streamline the process for you all, I’ve collected some of my top finds to help you kick butt in a healthy way with zero body shaming.
1. The Art of Healthy Living
Do you ever feel like workout sites and blogs are all just a bunch of fit people telling you how easy it is to be well and fit? Well, The Art of Healthy Living is the exact opposite of that. It’s a site with a focus on creating an environment where real people with real lives can get guidance from those who know what it’s like to barely be getting started.
You’ll feel the authenticity in the writing and post titles right from the beginning. What’s great about this blog is that all the advice you get is focused on making sure you feel happy with yourself. Every time I jump on here I can’t help but get a giant smile on my face. Almost like I’m enough just the way I am but if I want to be healthier, there are some tips.

2. Nerd Fitness Blog
Do you ever get to a point with a hobby where you turn into a complete nerd? This site is definitely written from the perspective of someone who loves fitness and wants to share how to do it well.
One of the biggest hurdles I experience with working out is coming up with a workout routine. I prefer being told what to do and that’s not always the most affordable route because trainers are expensive. Nerd Fitness provides you with niche workouts and techniques that will keep you motivated.
Not only is there a written blog but there is a video component on YouTube that makes it much more accessible to the masses.

There are plenty of successful people who DON’T:
-Wake up at 4:30AM
-Microdose LSD
-Do ice baths & cold showers
-Meditate 4 hours a day
-Go Keto/IF/vegan
–#CRUSHIT 24/7/365Find YOUR path.
Hopefully one without cold showers. Hard pass.

3. Erin Lives Whole
This by far is my favorite blog. Intuitive eating is one thing I’ve had to learn about the hard way. Mostly because there are so many societal pressures around restriction and body shaming. For example, if you can’t stick to a diet then you have no self-control. This line of thinking is unsustainable.
Instead of doing what I’m told, what makes me successful when it comes to dieting is listening to my body and what it craves. Also, when one wants to “cut” weight what we put in our body is important. More important though, becoming accepting about what your body looks like is what Erin Lives Whole is all about.

4. Daily Burn | Life
The daily grind can sometimes leave me not wanting to get up at the end of my workday to exercise. I believe that Daily Burn | Life is the perfect blog for the real people out there. It’s written with the understanding that you have a full life and that you want to exercise but you don’t always have the energy to get motivated.
It reminds me that just because I’m not running a 5k every day, my day-to-day activities can count as exercise. The point is to get my body moving. You’ll also get your fix of mental wellness tips that are important when it comes to how we view ourselves.

Celebrate #WorldHealthDay by focusing on the essentials. We need to be reminded of what our bodies can do for us and what we can do to help them in return. Run, stretch, breathe! Because taking care of ourselves today leads to a brighter tomorrow. 🌎❤️ pic.twitter.com/B3UnyEMpG3
