UMe Celebrates the World’s Most Famous Secret Agent with Multiformat Releases of The Best of Bond…James Bond
Today (Sept. 24), UMe releases an updated version of The Best of Bond…James Bond, available as a digital download and a 2-CD set; on Oct. 8, 3-LP black vinyl will be released, plus a limited-edition gold vinyl will be available exclusively via uDiscover Music and Sound of Vinyl. Each compilation features celebrated theme songs from the longest-running film franchise and includes “No Time to Die” by Billie Eilish from No Time to Die, the 25th film in the series. Also now included will be Adele’s “Skyfall” from Skyfall, the highest-grossing Bond film to date, and Sam Smith’s Spectre theme, “Writing’s on the Wall,” – Oscar winners for Best Song in 2013 and 2016, respectively.
The governors of the nation’s two largest blue states, California and New York, have recently faced accountability moments, as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned his office in August, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom survived a recall effort last week. In a survey of residents of the two states during this period of political upheaval, the Rose Institute of State and Local Government at CMC compared attitudes of California and New York voters toward the power to recall public officials, their governors’ performances, and problems facing the states.
In its last two quarterly reports, the UCLA Anderson Forecast has anticipated a robust recovery from the COVID-19–induced recession that began in March 2020. The June 2021 quarterly report did come with a caveat: recoveries are never smooth. That caveat proved prescient. Now, hopes for blockbuster economic growth have been tempered by the spread of the Delta variant and stagnating vaccination rates, which in turn have led to consumer caution and supply constraints. As a result, what could have been a couple of years of blockbuster economic performance will now likely feature solid but unspectacular growth.
New data released today (Sept. 29) by Expedia indicates holiday travel planning is underway and the top choices for Thanksgiving and Christmas escapes are sunny beachside destinations across Mexico, the southern U.S., and the Caribbean. Mountaintop getaways to Utah and Colorado are also shaping up to be popular for travelers this holiday season. While many of these destinations are already seeing strong demand, it’s important to know that it’s not too late to book.
