Upcoming Events - 2024

We still have a month left in 2023, but 2024 already has a well-developed schedule of unique events for journalists and bloggers. So start the new year off on the right foot by getting ahead on your schedule.

Dive into the list of events below and find the perfect learning opportunity for you. Whether you write about tech, fitness, travel or food, or are an investigative journalist, there’s something for you coming up in 2024.

Multiple 2023 Dates: Pinners Conference & Expo

A full slate of these events for DIYers, crafters, photographers, and other creatives is available for 2024. The Pinners Conference schedule will kick off in February in Overland Park, Kansas, and make its way around the country, ending in Scottsdale, Arizona, in November. Check out the full schedule to see which city and date work for you.

Jan. 9-12: CES

CES is “the most influential tech event in the world.” It will be returning to Las Vegas in 2024 for a live, in-person event. More than 3,500 exhibitors from all over the world will meet with hundreds of media attendees to discuss how their innovations are building a better world. The 2024 event’s theme is “All Together. All On.” Sustainability, vehicle technology, VR, AI, space technology, and esports are just a few of the many topics that will be on display.

Jan. 15-17: Affiliate Summit West

Mass publishers and bloggers alike will head to Las Vegas to attend Affiliate Summit West. Build new partnerships and learn new ways to build traffic to your site. The content tracks include Content & Commerce, Lead Gen, Brand to Brand, Ecommerce, and more.

Jan. 30-Feb. 1: The Southern C Summit

The Southern C Summit welcomes female entrepreneurs for three days of workshops, mentor sessions, social gatherings, and the ever-popular silent disco and swag market. Topics will cover the latest in e-commerce, media, marketing, and more. If you’re passionate about blogging, wellness, fashion, food, art, or media, this is a great event to check out. Both virtual and in-person ticket options are available. The in-person event will take place in Sea Island, Georgia.

Feb. 16-19: Women’s Travel Fest

In 2024, the annual Travel Fest will be headed to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The weekend retreat will feature curated talks, workshops, community exercises, and mindful practices for travel lovers and content creators. The full schedule is TBD.

Feb. 22-25: IDEA Health and Fitness Summit

This event is a great option for fitness bloggers and vloggers. They can connect with other personal trainers, entrepreneurs, and business owners and learn new strategies to create change and get noticed in a crowded marketplace. Topics cover training techniques, nutrition, training science, and professional development.

Feb. 29-March 2: WORKBENCHcon

WORKBENCHcon is a “growing network of diyers, makers, influencers & bloggers discovering new techniques, products and skills all while learning how to take their businesses to the next level.” Sessions will cover topics like techniques for using tools and new equipment, skills for video production, and business practices for the content creator, with more to come. It will be held in Atlanta.

March 7-9: ACP Spring National College Media Conference

The Associated College Press (ACP) returns to San Diego in 2024 for its Spring National College Media Conference. The event provides collegiate journalists and advisers with helpful sessions, critiques, advice and feedback. The dozens of sessions will cover topics like sports reporting, digital storytelling, visuals and design, and social justice reporting.

March 7-10: NICAR 2024

The 2024 data journalism conference will take place in Baltimore, Maryland. The event will “offer a mix of panels, demos, discussions, networking, and hands-on data training.” The session schedule is TBD and full session and speaker details will be released in early 2024.

March 8-16: SXSW

SXSW will welcome a diverse group of innovators, storytellers, humanitarians, and global thought leaders back to Austin, Texas, for 9 days of collaboration. AI, climate change, civic engagement, and film and TV are just a few of the dozens of tracks available to attendees.

March 13-16: Tastemaker Conference

This popular food blogger event will take place in Chicago. Attendees will be treated to meals (of course), swag bags, workshops, panels, and food excursions around the amazing Chicago food scene. Sessions will cover SEO, DEI, content creation, revenue growth, and more helpful topics for food bloggers.

March 17-20: Alt Summit

Head to Palm Springs for the 2024 Alt Summit, which brings together thousands of women influencers and entrepreneurs and provides a “physical gathering place for that community and then incredible things happen.”

April 3-7: Craftcation

Calling all craft bloggers! Craftcation offers attendees more than 200 craft and business workshops. Visitors will “explore dozens of genres in our hands-on workshops where you’ll get instruction and inspiration to find your creative flow.” While the full schedule is TBD, past events have taught everything from sewing to screenprinting, perfume making, knitting, shoe making, mixed media art, and painting. The event will take place in Ventura, California.

April 12-14: Women in Travel Summit

Creative entrepreneurs, influencers, and more travel experts will head to Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah, for WITS 2024. They will “discuss future innovations, build dynamic collaborations, and change travel worldwide, all while supporting and empowering a diverse community.” Discussion will center around elevating women and underrepresented creators as well as current issues in travel. April 17-21: International Journalism Festival

Perugia, Italy, will again host the International Journalism Festival, the largest annual media event in Europe. Major topics for the 2024 event include AI, Ukraine, disinformation, climate reporting, and collaborative journalism. Session proposals will be accepted through the end of 2023.

June 5-7: Craft + Commerce

Boise, Idaho, will host the event where “top online creators gather to help grow their businesses.” Inspiring keynotes, intimate workshops, and plenty of networking opportunities will round out the schedule. “The Trojan Horse Strategy: How to Pick a Profitable Niche (That Doesn’t Feel Limiting)” and “Deliverability Deserves a Keynote: 3 Strategies to Stay Out of the Spam Folder” are just a few of the sessions on the schedule.

July 9-12: TBEX North America

Travel content creators will attend TBEX to boost their writing, photography, and video skills, network with other creators, travel experts, and tourist boards, and more. Dozens of workshops, sessions, and forums will fill the schedule. TBEX North America will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Aug. 19-22: Podcast Movement

Thousands of podcasters and industry pros will head to Washington, DC, for Podcast Movement. The four days will include more than 100 educational sessions and workshops, networking events and parties, and a podcasting expo and trade show.

Sept. 18-21: ONA24

The Online News Association’s annual event focuses on the future of digital media and will be held in Atlanta, Georgia. Attendees range from digital media audience and analytics professionals to news product, strategy, and business executives and entrepreneurs.

Nov. 11-14: Web Summit

The “world’s premier tech conference” will take place in Lisbon, Portugal. Educational masterclasses and roundtables will be available at the event, which aims to “gather policymakers, heads of state and the founders and CEOs of technology companies and fast-growing startups to ask a simple question: Where to next?”
