Blog Profiles: Fashion Blogs

Fashion Blogs We Love

Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, PR Newswire media relations manager Christine Cube will select an industry or subject and a handful of sites that do a good job with promoting, contributing, and blogging about the space. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tell Christine why on PR Newswire for Bloggers.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week just wrapped in New York a couple of weeks ago. I had the good fortune to run up to New York several years ago and cover what was then known as Olympus Fashion Week. I attended a couple of trunk shows and met some of the Project Runway stars. It was definitely a career highlight.

Today, I get to live vicariously through fashion bloggers, who keep their audiences updated on what’s hot and trending in this glamorous arena. I found a few notable ones:

RDuJour is known as the “best of fashion online,” and it’s syndicated by Vogue UK. It was established in 2006.

This is an incredibly attractive site. Not only does RDuJour cover ready-to-wear collections (such as Sea Fall 2014) and these gorgeous handbags from Celine Spring 2014, the site puts together Outfits of the Day (No. 272 particularly speaks to me).

RDuJour features posts on fashion, people, items, music, and notable fashion literature.

Fashionisto Diaries is the creation of New York-based fashion blogger and vlogger Ryan Charchian. The site was born Dec. 2010 in the Washington, DC suburbs.

A few years ago, Charchian covered the emerging DC fashion scene and scored an interview with Project Runway icon Tim Gunn.

“From there, a friendship was born and Tim invited Ryan to attend the Project Runway Finale Show as his guest,” the blog says. Charchian since has attended New York Fashion Week every season.

Fashionisto Diaries is the “not-so-private diary of a fashionisto detailing his adventures in fashion and his advice on style, culture and everything in between.” A post I enjoyed is Calla Paris Fall/Winter 2014.

BeChicMag is the fashion and beauty blog of style expert Mercedes Sanchez.

According to the blog, Sanchez shares beauty and fashion expertise on NBC New York, CBS Live From The Couch, Univision, and Telemundo. Last spring, Sanchez was named one of the Top 10 Best Beauty Bloggers by Latina Magazine.

BeChicMag covers the beauty gamut, including fashion, outfits, lifestyle, and entertainment. The site even has its own photo series, #BeChicTuesday, where Twitter followers can share their favorite looks with other fashion enthusiasts.

I particularly liked this piece that Sanchez also wrote for the New York Daily News on Latino designers making their mark on the runway.

Fashion Border Final

Over the past year, we featured several fashion sites on PR Newswire for Bloggers. Here were some of our favorites:

Keep It Chic is the fashion and style blog of Preston Davis, who spent 20 years casting models for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and fashion shows. Says Davis: “I believe style should permeate every aspect of our lives — from home, to family, to where we go, and naturally, what we wear.”

Stylonylon is the whimsical personal style, fashion and lifestyle blog of London freelancer Julia Rebaudo. The blog features a “medley of outfit posts, natural and organic beauty, beautiful buys, shopping and eating out in London, and traveling the world.”

Cashmere & Tweed features “fashion, beauty, lifestyle, entertainment, and more, for teenagers and young professionals.” The blog was launched Aug. 2011 and relies heavily on art — photographs, images, and video.
