Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, PR Newswire media relations manager Christine Cube selects an industry or subject and a handful of sites that do a good job with promoting, contributing, and blogging about the space. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tell Christine why on PR Newswire for Bloggers.
We’ve recently received a ton of beauty and style blog pitches through PR Newswire for Bloggers.
Frankly, I think it’s time we look closer at some of you guys.
Cybelesays is celebrating 13 years of beauty product reviews. It’s written and managed by Los Angeles blogger Cybele Parsignault.
The blog likes to focus on new products and lines, bite-sized write ups, and big pictures. What you won’t find on Cybelesays is long-winded features and complicated terms copied straight from the product box.
A recent post that I found interesting is Apply Your Body Lotion IN The Shower … Huh?, where Parsignault says simply: “Count me in for anytime I can cut a step out of my regular beauty routine.”
Other notable posts include Top 5 Favorite Beauty Tricks and Review + Swatches – Tarte Park Ave Princess Contour Palette.

Style Like Kacey is the fashion and lifestyle blog of Kacey Lynn.
Lynn says she dedicates the blog to all things “fashion, non-toxic beauty, and lifestyle.”
“I started this blog with no other will than to delight in and share a passion, and to connect with people who share the same interests,” she writes. “My partner in crime, Marc, conspires with me in my passion for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle and he is also the photographer for this blog.”
I chose to feature Style Like Kacey because it includes real and accessible beauty information. For example, you may have heard about the good attributes of coconut oil. But makeup remover? You can find that in Lynn’s blog.

THISWASFOREVER is the beauty blog of Emily Chan in Toronto.
Chan gets right into her product reviewing, with posts like Kaia Bamboo Tapioca Beads Customized Cleansing Kit Review and Wet N Wild’s 2015 Collection Makeup Brushes Review.
I like the way Chan reviews products. In the latter, she says of the Build a Foundation brush: “This is my favorite brush out of the three because it really does have the perfect balance between firmness and softness. I have been using this religiously in the past 2/3 weeks and I just always gravitate back to it. I just love how easy it is to blend my foundation with this brush and feels very soft against my skin.”
Finally, thanks to Chan’s review of EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Vanilla Mint, I know what my next purchase will be.

A work friend told me about the wonderfulness that is Stitch Fix. Coincidentally, some friends recently began chatting about it on Facebook.
I took this to be a sign. I found San Francisco-based Stitch Fix has its own blog.
Stitch Fix’s blog is definitely more fashion than strictly makeup/beauty.
Their suggestions? Coated denim, a little romance (think dark wash denim paired with a lace-detailed top), and boho.
“Try a printed bohemian inspired draped cardigan worn with jeans and your favorite booties,” the Stitch Fix blog says.
Oh, and one more excellent post: 5 New Year’s Style Resolutions We Love.
