The U.S. Postal Service reported total revenue of $17.1 billion for the third quarter of 2018 (April 1 – June 30), an increase of $402 million, or 2.4%, compared to the same quarter last year. First-Class Mail revenue declined by $134 million, or 2.2%, and Marketing Mail revenue increased by $63 million, or 1.6%. Total mail volume declined by a combined 397 million pieces, or 1.2%, compared to the same quarter last year. Shipping and Packages revenue increased by $475 million, or 10.2%, on volume growth of 102 million pieces, or 7.5%.

MTV announced on Aug. 2 that Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, and Logic with Ryan Tedder will take the stage at the 2018 VMAs. Grande will perform her smash hit single “God is a Woman” from her forthcoming album “Sweetener,” while Mendes will deliver his chart-topping song “In My Blood,” and Logic will perform his new single, “One Day,” featuring Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, for the first time.
New research funded in part by March of Dimes has found that pregnant women in their first and second trimester with the lowest blood levels of long-chain n-3 fatty acids – the kind found in fish oil — were at 10 times greater risk of early preterm birth compared with women who had higher levels. The findings suggest that eating fish that are good sources of the fatty acids EPA and DHA may help reduce the risk of preterm birth.
