Blog Profiles: Snowboarding Blogs

Welcome to Blog Profiles! Each week, we select a topic and handful of blogs that do a great job contributing to the conversation. This week’s edition focuses on a few of our favorite snowboarding blogs. Do you have a blog that deserves recognition? Tweet our writers at @BeyondBylines.

Snowboarding Blogs We Love - mediablog.prnewswire.com

The first time I went snowboarding down the slopes, I was in the Colorado Rockies at Copper Mountain. I lost track of how many toddler skis and snowboards swooshed past me that day. Growing up in Colorado, I knew that I was diving into an advanced ski resort with hundreds of avid skiers and snowboarders. Despite the embarrassment, falls, a near-miss black diamond, and 90-degree drop offs, I had one of the best times of my life.

I love the feelings of exhilaration and freedom that snowboarding gives me. I yearn to be able to shred as much fresh powder on the mountain as these snowboarding bloggers do.

1. Burton

As an avid outdoorswoman who loves hiking and camping in the backcountry, Burton caught my eye many years ago. While I can’t advocate for Burton snowboards, I can say the brand is an expert in the snowboarding business, as it’s been in the business since 1977, when it was founded by Jake Burton Carpenter.

Posts I enjoyed reading: Top Tips for the First Time Snowboarder; Off the Beaten Path: Exploring Bulgaria with Donna Carpenter & Crew; and Staying Grounded: Why We Love Carving, Earth Surfing, and Banked Slaloms.

3. Liftopia

A popular online ski marketplace, Liftopia offers “the largest source of ski lift ticket deals online.”

“In an effort to make it more impactful and insightful,” Liftopia re-launched its blog in September 2011 and contributors now provide informational content on a regular basis.

4. Whitelines

Whitelines has a ton of entertaining and engaging content, which includes categories like gear, culture, travel, and advice.

These posts also are the easiest to digest of all the blogs, as most, if not all, of the blog posts include embedded photos and videos.

Here are my favorite posts: Improve Your Snowboarding With Yoga; A Southern Experience; and How to Snowboard on Ice.
