5 Unique Resources to Help You Celebrate Juneteenth

As we make our way through early summer, a pivotal moment in time resurfaces each year in the form of the newly recognized federal holiday known as Juneteenth. This special day pays tribute to the efforts that strengthened the fight for equality, signified by President Abraham Lincoln’s signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth marks the events of June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Texas, when the last Black slaves of the Confederacy were ordered free following the arrival of Union troops.

To help celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of recent entertaining and educational articles and resources that highlight various elements of Juneteenth, with underlying themes rooted in social justice and Black culture
