Podcast blogs we love

I will start by saying, if you haven’t listened to the S-Town Podcast hosted by Brian Reed from This American Life, you absolutely should.

When I first heard about it, I thought: do I have time to listen to a podcast?

I didn’t think I did, but I listened to the first chapter and was hooked. It’s unlike any story I’ve ever heard.

The podcast industry is showing no signs of slowing down, so let’s find out what all of the fuss is about.

1. Kermode Uncut

Mark Kermode is the UK’s leading film critic. Kermode and Simon Mayo’s podcast is downloaded by 100,000 people per week.

I recommend listening to Amma Asante, My Top Ten Movies Of 2017 So Far – Part 1, and The Definitive War Film.

2. Here’s The Thing

Alec Baldwin hosts WNYC’s podcast, with new episodes every other Tuesday. He interviews artists, policy makers, and performers.

Brian Reed Thought “S-Town” Could Only Ever Be a Cult ShowThom Yorke, and John Turturro’s Mind at Work are all great listens.

3. Adam Buxton

Adam is a comedian, writer and actor. He and Joe Cornish hosted the Adam and Joe podcast on BBC Radio 6 Music, which ran from 2007 to 2012. Joe is a writer and director, and Adam now runs his own podcast.

PODCAST EP.45 – EDGAR WRIGHT, PODCAST EP.40 – ZADIE SMITH, and PODCAST EP.22 & 22B – JONNY GREENWOOD are all good episodes.
